YouTube to Transcript is a free tool our team built to help creators copy the captions from eligible YouTube videos in just a few seconds. We originally built it for our own content creation workflow and decided to make it available to everyone without any sign up walls, ads, or pop ups.
The tool fetches publicly available caption tracks directly from YouTube once you provide a valid video link. From there, we format the transcript so that it is easy to copy, download, or reuse in other projects such as blog posts, subtitles, or summaries.
Unlike most downloaders, YouTube to Transcript does not require an account, keeps usage free, and is focused on respecting your time and privacy. Everything happens client-side and we only call our backend to fetch the transcript you asked for.
We kept meeting creators who needed a fast way to grab transcripts so they could repurpose their videos into newsletters, articles, or social content. Instead of patching scripts for each use case, we turned the workflow into a simple public page that anyone can use for free.
You can keep the tool bookmarked, share it with your team, or integrate it into your existing editing workflow to speed up content production.
If you have questions or ideas for improving the downloader, visit our contact page. We read every message and constantly refine the free tool based on the feedback we receive from the community.
